BFA (Honors) Admission
In the BFA (Honors) Program in Drawing and Painting, students are admitted under the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka. Students coming from any background of Arts/Humanities, Science, Business Studies at Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent are eligible for admission. Required GPA at SSC and HSC or equivalent is determined by the Faculty responsible for administrating the admission test. To be eligible for admission in Drawing and Painting candidates must secure minimum total GPA 6.50 in HSC and SSC.
Admission seekers are required to sit for admission test under “Cha Unit” administrated by the Faculty of Fine Art. Students have to pass the general knowledge test to attain in the Drawing test. The merit list is prepared by combining the marks of general knowledge test, drawing test and Percentage of secured GPA in SSC and HSC examinations.
MFA Admission
The BFA passed students of the department are eligible for the MFA admission. The students have to secure minimum CGPA 2.25 in BFA examination for MFA admission.
PhD Admission
A candidate for admission to the PhD program of Drawing and Painting Department must fulfill the following admission requirements:
1) The candidate must possess 4 years BFA degree and 2 years MFA degree. The BFA and MFA degree holders from private universities of Bangladesh are not eligible for direct Ph.D. admission. They have to complete M.Phil. degree from Dhaka University. The minimum requirement of GPA/CGPA is 3.50 in the scale of 5.00 and 3.00 in the scale of 4.00 from their SSC to Masters Degree.
2) A candidate for admission to the PhD degree program will apply in the prescribed form (obtained from the office of the Registrar) to the Chairman of the Department along with the recommendation of the supervisor.
3) The Registrar on receiving the application form for admission from the Chairman of the Department shall place it before the relevant Ph.D. Committee of the Faculty concerned and then forward the application together with the recommendation of the Ph.D. Committee to the Board of Advanced Studies and the Academic Council for final approval.
